Takoradi Mall is a large shopping mall in Takoradi, Ghana. The management team needed a software solution to help them manage their properties within the mall. I was tasked with desinging a system suited specifically for their needs. The aim was to develop a user-friendly property management software for Takoradi Mall. The software will streamline tasks such as lease management, maintenance scheduling, tenant communication, rent collection, and reporting, to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve the overall experience for the mall's management team, tenants, and visitors.

Tasks like lease management, maintenance scheduling, rent collection, and reporting are carried out manually, making them time-consuming and error-prone. The lack of automation hampers productivity and effectiveness for the management team. To address these issues, a modern and user-friendly property management software is needed to automate and streamline processes, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and overall user experience for all stakeholders involved in managing Takoradi Mall.

Empathy Map I used empathy maps to further capture the users' feelings, thoughts, behaviors, etc, to develop a much better understanding of their need and pain points, and how they could be addressed.

User Journey Map I prepared a future-state user jouney map to outline the journey of one of my users, Maxwell. The user journey map revealed the various ways in which the software I was designing would help the management team of the mall. This gave my team and I a clear picture of the key areas users experienced pain points and how the software I was designing could help them in the future.

Using the digital wireframes, I prepared a low fidelity prototype which was used during usability studies, to ensure that the features and functionalities required to enable the software to meet user needs are all available in the design, and are properly structured.

Accessibility considerations 1. Make images accessible for screen readers by adding alternative text, thus users with visual impairments can have access to the content. 2. Make charts simple for easy reading and understanding. 3. Used descriptive text to make it easy for users to understand the features in the software and what they do.

Takeaways Impact The software make the work of the management team at Takoradi Mall Limited easy, as it automates their tracking of rent, utility, and maintenance payments, while also giving them a centralized system for managing their clients' data, and gives them indepth analytics to help them gain operational insights. What I learnt While doing research for this software, I learnt that users like intuitive interfaces that require little to no training to use. Users also value notifications a lot, because it helps them in tracking their activities, while reducing oversights.

Next Steps 1. Design a resposive tablet and mobile view of the software 2. Conduct more research to identify any new areas of need.
